Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Open Science Review21 undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure academic quality, scientific relevance, and originality.
Initially, all submissions are evaluated by the editorial team, which verifies the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, editorial guidelines, and submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at this stage.
Manuscripts approved in the editorial screening are sent for peer review under a double-blind system, in which authors and reviewers do not have access to each other’s identities. Each article is evaluated by at least two ad hoc reviewers, experts in the relevant field, who analyze aspects such as originality, theoretical and methodological consistency, relevance of the topic, clarity of argumentation, and contribution to the field.
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial decision may result in acceptance, request for revisions, or rejection. When revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised version, which may be re-evaluated by reviewers or the editorial team, as appropriate. The final decision regarding publication rests with the journal’s editorial office.
